We are honored to introduce Valery Voronov—internationally acclaimed composer and distinguished representative of contemporary European music—as a member of the Stella Unica International Young Composers Competition jury.

Valery Voronov began his professional musical education in Minsk before continuing his advanced studies in Germany. In 1995, he entered the composition class of renowned composer Professor Krzysztof Meyer at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. He later continued his studies at the university’s prestigious Studio for Electronic Music, further developing his distinctive artistic language through both acoustic and electronic media. He currently lives and works in Berlin.

Voronov has received numerous international composition awards, including First Prize at the Witold Lutosławski Composition Competition in Warsaw for Andante Luminoso, the International Schiedmayer Celesta Prize for 7 Haiku, and the Da Capo Prize of the Brandenburg Biennale for Marmor.

His music has been presented at many of Europe’s leading contemporary music festivals, including Warsaw Autumn, MaerzMusik Berlin, Festival d’Automne in Paris, Gaudeamus Music Week in Amsterdam, Aspekte Salzburg, and the Dresden Days of Contemporary Music. His works—including Season of the Phantasmal Peace, Marmor, Helios, Acqua Alta, and Enigma—are published and represented internationally by Donemus.
